•UPDATE•
A representative of Sixt (Shanequa) had reached out to me within 24 hours of my review and has subjected to resolve the issue to which both sides have agreed!
Thank you so much for taking care of me! I will be giving Sixt another chance.
•STORY LINE•
This is my first time renting from Sixt Rent a Car in Atlanta, I’m a regular with Avis/Hertz but I decided to give Sixt a try based on their service, attentiveness, friendliness, and pricing.
At the time of arrival my renting agent didn’t seem like she to wanted to be there, I booked a full-size sedan which is a Toyota Camry or similar, she did not offer me a similar vehicle but said, ‘It’s going to be a Nissan Sentra.’ I asked if she had what I booked because a Sentra is a midsize sedan, she refused to give me other options in my car class than to wait for an hour+ or UPGRADE into something for more money, I then asked if I were to take the Sentra would there be a price adjustment, she said no. To me that’s bait and switch, other companies would offer me the next class up free of charge.
I then asked for someone else to assist us that had more knowledge and experience, a gentleman came over with the manager and they were quick to find me a Toyota Camry, I was very pleased on how less problematic they handled the issue, due to the unforeseen reasoning why my husband and I had to take a last minute trip to Atlanta, we were already not having the energy to challenge any issues, thank you.
We then proceeded to add the advanced fuel and additional driver, come to find out there is a ‘$15 additional driver fee’ even for spouse. We have the same address on our drivers license and are on the same auto insurance at home. Avis/Hertz don’t even charge for spouse/partners/coworkers.
During our trip I tried to extend our rental but there was issues with their link they had sent in my email and it was impossible to get a hold of anyone, luckily Raj from the overdue department had reached out to me and left a voicemail, I returned the phone call and before I could explain my situation and issues I’ve been running into she gave me the worse attitude and experience I’ve had to encounter with a Sixt Rental Car Representative. I tried to explain to her without rudely getting talked over and interrupted that I was out there for my mother in laws funeral and I apologized for the delay on returning the vehicle and hope to get some type of resolution that’s agreeable on both sides. She then in a threatening tone said that I had to have my vehicle back in an hour or there will be consequences, I told her I’ve never been to Georgia before and from the looks on my GPS it would take about 2.5 hours to get to Atlanta from where I was at. After we hung up she sent out a false email stating that she was unable to reach me and demanded I return the vehicle or otherwise, I immediately responded back, ‘As we spoke on the phone before.’ Because at this point I feel like they were going to set me up for some false claims.
Would I give Sixt Rent A Car another try? Maybe. Only if someone in the chain of command is will reach out to me and offer a solution to my experience for next time. If not, I don’t hear back from anyone I would stay far far away from Sixt Rent A Car in Atlanta, Georgia.
